Greetings all
Many of you will know that the Royal Literary Fund (RLF) supports a programme for professional writers and trainers, with 34 Consultant Fellows working with some 60 UK universities (https://rlfconsultants.com/). RLF Consultant Fellows liaise closely with in-house colleagues to provide tailored writing development interventions, from half-day workshops to several-day retreats.
Two of us have recently published short items on the vexed topic of feedback. Anne Wilson’s article in the Times Higher Education yesterday (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/news/teaching-intelligence-how-improve-feedback-conversations) gives practical advice about addressing the emotional nature of giving and receiving feedback. My blog item, https://www.macmillanihe.com/blog/post/feedback-feedforward-trevor-day/, is an aide-mémoire for early-career teaching staff, about turning feedback into feed-forward. It draws upon the work of colleagues who subscribe to the SEDA forum.
We hope you find both items helpful, and worth sharing with your colleagues.
All good wishes on this Friday afternoon, Trevor
Dr Trevor Day SFHEA
