Dear members,
Could you please give this to anyone who might be interested in an experience in the Southern hemisphere. We are advertising a position for lecturer/senior lecturer in Dunedin, New Zealand and I would like to pass this on.
Dunedin is a very beautiful city and this is reflected particularly in the campus of the University, which is built around the meandering Leith stream, and retains much of its original nineteenth century architecture. Living in Dunedin allows access to a plethora of experiences for those with an interest in the outdoors. For example there would be more than ten beaches, each exhibiting their own distinctive character, within a half hour drive of the city centre. For those who wish to travel slightly further afield, there are skiing and adventure sports opportunities in Centra Otago (three and half hours from Dunedin) and stunning lakes and native forest in Fiordland national park (three hours from Dunedin).
Dunedin is very much a university town, with a total of 17000 students and 1400 full time academic staff making up approximately 15% of the total population. The central place of the University in the life of Dunedin, may account for the small yet vibrant cultural scene in the city.
Please consider applying!
