I thought this might be of interest as although this is a conference
aimed at the land based sector it will be looking at national agendas
that affect teaching and learning in all disciplines.
Aspects will be addressed such as
'establishing close relationships between employers,'
'ensuring graduates have the right skills to equip them for a lifetime
in a fast changing work environment' 'enabling learners to understand
and reflect on their achievement using personal development planning'
All of which have been flagged up in the recent white paper on The
Future of Higher Education
HELP Conference
Higher Education Learning Partnerships to meet the needs of students and
employers in the land based sector April 7th 2003 Universities UK,
London
The conference offers an opportunity for those working in the land based
sector to contribute to and learn from ongoing action research in
learning and teaching. The conference aims to provide practical
solutions for academics to address national agendas - such as widening
participation, employability, and enhancing progression and retention.
