Dear colleagues,
Thank you for taking a minute to help us out with the following.
We work at the Faculty of Social Sciences at KU Leuven (Belgium).
We are continuously looking for ways to support students in improving their academic writing. Right now, we are thinking about developing (a new) or buying and adapting (an existing) feedback webtool that allows teaching staff to give feedback on both the content and the writing aspects of a paper, a bachelor’s/master’s thesis, or essay style exam questions. We would like the tool to allow evaluators to give the feedback in or next to the actual text (we are thinking about a combination of pre-structured evaluation criteria based on rubrics to choose from using a dropdown menu and a textbox for additional comments) and for students to read the feedback, linked to actual (parts of the) text.
We are now in the phase of exploring what is out there and are very interested to hear from you which tools your institution uses or is working on. If you send us a short message, we would be very happy to arrange a Skype meeting in the coming days or weeks.
Thank you very much,
Kind regards,
Matthias Bunneghem and Katrien Hutsebaut,
