Having been to one of the consultation events a couple of weeks I have a sense of an evolving picture hence another set of questions arising out of, and seem to be linked to, some of the things talked about at the event. They seem to be a bit different to the questions asked in the HEFCE consultation due in today. Once the green paper is out there will probably be more questions for us to ponder!

I would expect them to occur alongside. An inquiry does not usually stop any process unless the recommendations are agreed and implemented by the relevant minister. It is not unusual for organisations to hold their efforts during an enquiry, but as the deadline for the HEFCE consultation is today, I am pretty sure they have collected at least the responses!
Talk about interesting times!

I apologise if I am being a bit slow but does this Inquiry now supersede the HEFCE consultation on quality assessment?

Deadline is 30th October – can we gather a SEDA response?
What should be the objectives of a Teaching Excellence Framework (‘TEF’)?
How should a TEF benefit students? Academics? Universities?
What are the institutional behaviours a TEF should drive? How can a system be designed to avoid unintended consequences?
How should the effectiveness of the TEF be judged?
How should the proposed Teaching Excellence Framework and new quality assurance regime fit together?
What do you think will be the main challenges in implementing a Teaching Excellence Framework?
How should the proposed connection between fee level and teaching quality be managed?
What should be the relationship between the Teaching Excellence Framework and fee level?
What are the benefits or risks of this approach to setting fees?
