Educational Developer: Academic Staff Development (full time post)
Salary: Band 7 £41,047-£47,517inclusive of London Allowance
LSE is seeking a creative, innovative and self-motivated educational developer, with experience of working with academics teaching social science disciplines, in particular quantitative subjects. The position is based in the LSE’s Educational Development team, which works with academics in departments throughout the LSE on enhancing teaching and learning, and with students through learning development work. The team also runs a successful PGCertHE programme.
You will have enthusiasm, and a proven track record of support for academic development in HE. This will include familiarity with teaching in the social sciences in a research intensive environment. You will also have insight into professional standards frameworks and will be skilled in designing, and delivering academic staff development activities. You will be educated to at least MSc level, preferably with a social science and/or quantitative methods background and have knowledge of the Higher Education sector.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills to enable him/her to work with and support academic colleagues across the School as well as with colleagues in the LSE Careers Service, Language Centre, and the other academic support departments of the School. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team.
