Good afternoon!
I have funding from the HEA/JISC to develop OERs to support educational
developers to include discipline-based activities within generic
courses. These resources will include workshop ideas etc to help
academic staff to unpack their disciplinary ways of thinking and
practising. More information on the project and an opportunity to
review, comment on and pilot the resources will be available shortly via
our blog (watch this space for more info!). In the meantime, if you are
interested in discussing the creation or use of OERs for educational
development activities do join our JISCmail list at
https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A0=OER4EDDEV
We also have a couple of events coming up that may be of interest. At
the end of February we will be holding a lunchtime webinar to discuss
OERs and the project further (details to follow). On Thursday 2nd
February (13:15 - 15:05) we are running an informal workshop at the
University of Bath to trial some of the draft activities with academics
and other staff. If you would be interested in coming along to the
workshop (to observe or participate) then please let me know. We will
also hold a brief meeting after the event to discuss how to take forward
the ideas generated. There is no charge to attend, tea / coffee will be
provided but you will have to bring your own lunch!
Best wishes and have a great weekend!
Helen
NB We will also be running a workshop at the SEDA spring conference, so
if you can't come to Bath hope to see you there!
