Senior Staff Development Officer, Academic Practice
£35,858 to £41,545 per annum
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the further development of
a well-established Centre with a strong institutional, regional and
national profile.
You will work with a highly professional, innovative and enthusiastic team
whose roles include support to the development of academic practice,
learning and teaching, professional practice, IT and E-Learning
development, evaluation issues affecting teaching, and support to staff
networks and quality enhancement activities.
Applicants will be professionally qualified graduates and have relevant
teacher/trainer experience. You must have outstanding professional,
communication and influencing skills and be able to deal with and resolve
complex and sensitive issues. Experience in HE is essential.
The main roles and responsibilities of the post-holder will include:
* to work closely with the Head of the Centre for Staff and Educational
Development (CSED) and Course Director of the MA in Higher Education
Practice (MA-HEP) in support of present and emerging UEA strategies in
academic staff development;
* to propose and support appropriate plans for the University in areas of
academic practice and educational development, and where required negotiate
suitable ways forward with other UEA stakeholders, in consultation with the
Head of CSED and Course Director, MA-HEP;
* to develop and deliver new activities, courses and materials for academic
staff development and deliver these, primarily as part of the programme
offered by the academic practice and educational development training
groups within CSED, and also in support of other areas of CSED activity
where appropriate;
* to contribute to the teaching, tutorial support and assessment of the MA
in Higher Education Practice and other programmes as required, and to
participate in the Exam Board. The postholder will also have an honorary
role within the School of Education and Lifelong Learning;
* to inform learning technology policy development and practice in the
areas of academic educational development.
