As we've found from previous runs of the National Student Survey, students
don't always appreciate the value of the feedback they can learn from. I'm
currently preparing a second edition of 'How to get a good degree' for
Open University Press, due to be published late in 2007 or early in 2008.
As part of a new chapter in this entitled 'Building on Feedback', I've
prepared a short proforma for students to use to pick out the trends from
various sources of feedback on their work. The idea is that they use such
a form for each separate element of work, and therefore become able to
pick out the trends from feedback they receive from tutors and from other
sources, not least fellow students. I'd really appreciate any comments on
this idea - particularly improvements you may like to suggest. I've
attached the pro-forma to this email, and it's also downloadable from my
website www.phil-race.com
