APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING
Learning Support for Disabled Students Undertaking Fieldwork and
Related Activities
8 May 2001
Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers, London
This seminar will address the issue of how geography, earth and
environmental science departments can face the challenge of providing
appropriate support for disabled students undertaking fieldwork. The
results will draw on the findings from an 18-month project supported by
HEFCE's Improving Provision for Disabled Students Funding Programme.
In view of recent and pending legislation, the QAA Code of Practice on
Disabled Students and the emphasis in HE on access and widening
participation this is a very topical subject. We would hope that every
department of geography, earth and environmental sciences will send a
representative to the seminar.
Seminar fee £30, including lunch, tea and coffee.
