Dear colleagues,
Here at the University of Manchester we have developed a continuing
professional development programme in the area of student support and
guidance. The award is accredited by SEDA. More information is
available at:
http://www.intranet.man.ac.uk/rsd/ci/profess/university.shtml#prog
Recently, SEDA has redeveloped the accreditation framework in the
form of the Professional Development Award for staff in
Higher Education. The new PDA Framework is being applied to a number
of professional development themes in Higher Education including:
. Embedding learning technology
. Supervising postgraduate researchers
. Developing professional practice in HE
I would be interested to hear from colleagues elsewhere who may be
running (or interested in running) CPD programmes under the broad
theme of 'student support and guidance' who may be interested in
potential collaboration to develop a nationally recognised award
in this area of professional development.
With best wishes
Catherine
