------- Forwarded message follows -------
I am a member of a Task Force set up by SCONUL (Standing Conference
of National and University Libraries) to prepare a position paper on
information skills. The aim is to use the paper as a trigger for
discussion within institutions and more widely on what we mean by
information skills ( or being information literate) and on the
relative roles of librarians and subject colleagues in teaching
information skills. We wish to draw on expertise and opinions from a
number of constituencies and related debates e.g. lifelong learning/
core skills/learning to learn/graduateness and
employability/levels/ILTHE etc.
I have been asked to obtain the views of the staff development
community. I would also be grateful if
this message could go out on the SEDA email discussion
list to reach a wider audience. Time is tight as usual ! - I need
responses by 13th April. Thanks for your help.
