STAFF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Applications are invited for a Project Officer to support this one year fixed term JISC-funded project. The postholder
will investigate how an appropriately Communications and Information Technology skilled work force might be generated
and maintained at a Higher Education Institution. A number of related sub-projects will provide an in-depth
investigation of such matters at UEA and cross-reference with other HEIs and organisations. Examples of good practice
will be identified and disseminated.
The successful candidate will be required to manage the progress of the project, under the leadership of Dr Paddy
Anstey and will ideally have prior research experience, flexibility, the capacity to relate to a wide variety of staff,
a good practical awareness of C+IT in HE and a high degree of computer literacy. A background in human resources,
change management or the social sciences is appropriate, although precise background is less important than an
enthusiasm and determination to see the project through to a successful conclusion. The post may appeal to an existing
staff developer as a secondment.
The project is funded from 1 February 1999 to 31 January 2000, the post will start no later than 1 March 1999. Salary
will be in the range £15,735 to £22,726 per annum (pro rata).
