LECTURESHIP in TEACHING and LEARNING in HIGHER EDUCATION
A lectureship in the Open University's Institute of Educational Technology
(IET) / Centre for Higher Education Practice (CeHEP) to develop and run
courses on higher education (apologies for cross-postings)
Applicants are sought for this lectureship. The postholder will make a major
contribution to the operation of H851, Teaching in Higher Education, which
is first presented from November 1998, and to the production and
presentation of H852, Course Design in Higher Education, and H850, Post
Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, both of
which will be presented from November 1999. These courses are designed to
meet national accreditation standards. They are taught by the OU¹s supported open learning system with on-line tutorial support. Further details of the courses can be found through the CeHEP website - http://cehep.open.ac.uk.
The postholder will also contribute to the Centre's programme of research,
which focuses on the training of higher education teachers; to the Centre's
externally funded development work, including co-ordination of the Higher
Education Funding Council for England's Fund for the Development of Teaching and Learning (FDTL); and to the work of IET.
The post is temporary, tenable from 1 January 1999 to 31 January 2002.
Salary will be on the Lecturer A scale, £16,366-£21,436, or Lecturer B,
£22,332-£28,545 depending on experience and qualifications. Further details
