1. Our News Sheet which provides an update on a number of current
issues. 

2. Three copies of UCoSDA’s Briefing Paper 61, entitled ‘The Role and
Development of Heads of Department in the Changing Higher Education
Context’, prepared by Judith Taylor, University College London. 

3. A personal copy of UCoSDA’s 1998-99 ‘Membership Information:
Services and Projects’. This brochure has already been distributed to
named senior institutional contacts with an invitation for members to
rejoin for the coming year. 

4. Advanced notice of UCoSDA’s proposed programme of courses for
1998-99.

5. The third THETO Bulletin.

6. A copy of DfEE’s recent publication ‘NVQs and SVQs at a Glance’
which provides a handy reference guide to the UK’s vocational
qualifications. 

7. Flyers from COSHEP inviting nominations for the following courses:

· ‘Human Resources: The Post Dearing Agenda’, University of Abertay
   Dundee, 8th September, 1998. 

· ‘Course for Heads of Department (Part Two),’ Heriot-Watt University,
  28th-30th October, 1998. 

8. A Flyer from the University of Sheffield advertising the ‘Masters
of Education, Training and Development’ distance learning course. This
two year programme is one of a number designed for experienced
practitioners in the fields of training and human resource
development. (Blue) /over 9. A JISC Flyer advertising a workshop on
‘The C&IT-Aware Manager: A Development, Promotion and Recruitment
Issue’. 

10. Newsletter No. 4 from the FDTL National Coordination Team ‘The
First Four Completing Projects’.
