Dear Colleagues,
We are currently undertaking a review of our institutional processes of programme (course) approval (validation) and review.
To help give us a picture of the status quo and best practices across the sector, I wondered if anyone would be willing share an overview of these processes as they operate in their own institutions, from either Quality Assurance or educational development perspectives (or both).
We’re particularly interested in examples of truly collaborative approaches to this, e.g. incorporating engagement of a wide range of stakeholders (perhaps including employers, students, alumni, professional bodies), centred on dialogue, and with curriculum development (possibly with learning design) playing a key role in the lead up to a definitive approval panel event. Or indeed, any variation on such a model.
I’d be really grateful for your insights, and would love to get a conversation going around this.
Many thanks, and best wishes,
Mark.
