Sarah,
I have heard some interesting discussions regarding finding the right balance between speed of providing feedback to students as opposed to the quality of feedback provided. Some students have expressed a concerned that institutions focus on the speed of turnaround (? something that senior managers feel they can legislate on and produce a KPI) rather than trying to improve the quality of the feedback (something senior managers have less of a handle on) even with a slower turnaround. As always this is a multifactorial problem, so perhaps a more holistic approach including reviewing the assessment landscape to try to optimise timing of assessments as well as speed and quality is what is needed.
Personally, I feel that we could get better by working in partnership with students to better gauge what it is they really want!
Best wishes,
Ian

As with all institutions, we are constantly looking at reviewing assessment and feedback procedures.
Could colleagues offer advice please around the following;
Their stated assessment feedback/turnaround times
Their approach to reducing this and any objections/challenges/opportunities faced.

Many thanks in advance
