Apologies if you see this more than once.
There is still time to submit a proposal to the 5th International Academic Identities conference: Academic life in the measured university: pleasures, paradoxes and politics to be held at The University of Sydney from 29 June - 1 July 2016.
We have extended the submission deadline to Friday 22 January 2016.
Conference keynotes include:
. Associate Professor Ruth Barcan, Department of Gender and Cultural Studies, The University of Sydney on Weighing up Futures: Experiences of Giving up an Academic Career
. Professor Gert Biesta, Department of Education, Brunel University
. Dr Julie Rowlands, School of Education, Deakin University on From a roar to a whisper: academic voice and governance within the measured university
As in previous Academic Identities conferences, the Sydney gathering promises to be an engaging, challenging and provocative space to consider the different ways 'measurement' is taking hold on academic life and labour.
Visit the conference website: http://www.itl.usyd.edu.au/aic2016 to submit your proposal and to register.
On a related note, the journal Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) is inviting a call for papers for a Special Issue on the conference theme. Extended 500 word abstracts are due on 28 February 2016. Further information at http://explore.tandfonline.com/cfp/ed/call-for-papers/herd-academic-life
We look forward to seeing you in Sydney.
