This role is to assist in the development of the academic development agenda as part of the implementation of the DMU wider learning and development strategy. It involves contributing to the development and delivery of a comprehensive range of academic development support – both face-to-face and online – contributing to initiatives such as the recognition of learning and teaching expertise through the HE Academy (through DMU’s Define framework) and the enhancement of the DMU teaching observation scheme.
This role supports the Academic Development Lead in working with key stakeholders, this role will support ensure that relevant strategies and frameworks are developed and implemented to underpin the achievement of excellent teaching and learning, research, technology enhanced learning and academic leadership practices for all academics as outlined in DMU’s Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy.
The post-holder is also responsible for supporting the implementation of DMU’s scheme recognising and developing learning and teaching skills – ‘Define’. In order to further develop excellence in pedagogic practice they will help to build on success in the area of National Teaching Fellows, DMU Teacher Fellows and Vice-Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Awards. Where appropriate, they may also provide support for those planning future REF submissions for pedagogic research.
