That's an even bigger can of worms than whether pedagogic research is a 'field'!!
I'll kick off with 'praxis' as a productive alternative to theory / practice as distinct modalities.

Subject: Theory into practice question
Hi All
I wonder if anyone can help with this question. In Design subjects a lot of emphasis is placed on what is called 'theory into practice' however students do not always understand what is meant by this and I am not sure as a non-designer that I quite get it as well. Could anyone help with examples of how this is taught successfully?
Many thanks
Isis
