Applications are invited for the newly created post of Head of Research Development at York St John University. The post will be part of the recently established Academic Development Directorate which has a remit to support the development and enhancement of teaching, learning and research across the University.
The postholder will take the lead with regard to research development for all staff and research students. This will include the implementation of a range of approaches to broaden engagement and capacity in all forms of scholarship and through this effect a step-change in the volume and quality of research outputs. It will provide opportunitities to work with staff from across York St John University and with all members of the Directorate .
We are looking for an experienced candidate with a significant track record of innovative practice in research skills development, research leadership and supervision practice. The successful candidate need to able to demonstrate external networking skills and successful involvement with a range of stakeholders in order to raise the profile of the University’s research agenda and researcher capability. A key part of the role is to support and coach academic staff to take part in research initiatives, including raising awareness of funding opportunities, support for proposal writing and submission, project management and dissemination.
