Led by Northumbria University, Think Physics is an ambitious project in the North East region which aims to inspire, excite, engage and support young people in physics and science from early years to sixth form and beyond. The project has a particular focus on increasing the uptake of physics and related Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines by females and those from other under-represented groups. A central hub will be created at Northumbria which will have both a physical and digital presence.
Based predominantly within the Faculty of Engineering and Environment, you will lead on the design, production and ongoing support of engaging and inspirational materials, resources and interactive elements for the blended support system for Think Physics project. This includes but is not limited to audio, video and interactive web based content.
You must have substantial recent experience of developing and delivering an engaging and inspiring digital learning experience. Knowledge and understanding of current issues in widening participation and particularly gender relating to STEM disciplines including physics is essential. Critically, you will display enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to deliver positive results to young people and children.
