At the University of Portsmouth we are also considering how we can build an onging relationship with colleagues after they complete the PGCLTHE.
We haven't got very far yet, but our first step has been to ask all recent finishers to complete a short CPD action plan for the next couple of years so that we can use this to inform our Academic Development activities. The CPD action plan prompts colleagues to think about both their CPD plans for learning and teaching and also how they will engage with the broader community of practice - through scholarship and the sharing of good and interesting practice, joining working groups on new curriculum development and by taking on roles such as mentoring and external examining.
I will be leading a short workshop on the topic, 'Building a continuing relationship with PGCLTHE alumni', at the November SEDA conference. Hope to see some of you there!
Best wishes
Rachel

Dear colleagues
We are thinking about how we can maintain and encourage colleagues'
engagement with scholarship and pedagogic research after they have finished
their PGCertHE and would be very interested to hear what others are doing
and what is working.
One idea we are considering is providing support from the Teaching and
Learning Development Unit to encourage colleagues to write short case studies
on their practice which can then be shared through an online forum,
disseminated via our newsletter and perhaps presented at conferences or
published elsewhere.
I would very much like to hear from anyone who has tried something similar or
another approach that has been effective.
thank you
Anne
