AT TVU we have an MA in Learning and Teaching which is up for review
with twin needs of match to HEA standards (involved in accreditation
process for CPD framework now), and NMC requirements - an interesting
mix. We are also looking to take our first participant colleagues into
an EdD as part of our professional doctorate scheme.
The processes raise some interesting questions which may seem like old
friends - focus, names (eg Learning and Teaching vs Education) and
outlook (is a study on Policy rather than practice actually acceptable).
Some collaboration here sounds like a good idea.

At Surrey we are just in the process of getting our M Sc in Learning and
Teaching for Professional Practice accredited at level 3 by the HEA. We
have had good feedback on this programme and I would be happy to convey
any interest to the Programme Director.

Subject: Responses to inquiry about courses
Dear All
Thank you all for your suggestions in response to my query about the
availability of an advanced course for teaching in HE.
I thought you might find it useful to see a summary of the responses.
Basically there is little available which would really meet the needs of
my colleague, so perhaps she has identified a gap in the market, as
Aileen Morris put it, maybe what is needed is something rather like the
advanced driver course. The courses that were suggested by list members
were:
Masters in Academic Practice at King's College, London.
Ed.D programme at Northumbria
Wonder if this is something that SEDA might want to consider, or a few
of us work together cross institutions - any takers?
All the best
Celia
