Happy New Year to all!
Two JISC funded Users and Innovation Programme projects are joining together to host a one day event in the spring:
Flourish & e-PIP – One day Workshop
'Putting the e into educational development'
Wednesday 22nd April 2009
Woodlands Conferencing, Red Rose Hub, Preston.
The Flourish Project at the University of Cumbria and e-PIP project at the University of Hull Physical Sciences Centre are pleased to announce a free one day event for practitioners who are keen to share their experiences of implementing e-learning and e-portfolios for educational development. The aim of this day is to allow practitioners to explore the various ways of embedding and encouraging staff to use e-learning, and more specifically e-portfolios to support their continuing professional development.
We invite you to submit a proposal for a 40 minute workshop or lead a 40 minute discussion of a case study you have been involved in. We are keen to hear from practitioners who are willing to share their experiences, discuss lessons learnt and make recommendations for the future. We wish to hear stories of how your work has impacted on practice and we hope to encourage delegates to take away good ideas to use in their institutions. The deadline for submissions is 26th January 2009.
The day will begin with a keynote from Lawrie Phipps, co chair of SEDA and JISC Programme Manager.
Themes:
Challenging existing practices
Embedding new approaches to professional development
Changing habits
Institutional readiness
Who is it for: This workshop would be suitable for a range of staff involved in educational development, including academics, staff developers, human resource staff and managers in educational institutions.
