We at Sheffield Hallam University have a SEDA Research and Development
Grant to look at evaluating different institutions’ approaches to running
internal change academies which are generally based on their experiences of
the national HEA Change Academy Programme. This has involved a
benchmarking exercise, a literature review of materials around educational
change and a forthcoming development event at Sheffield Hallam in January
2009. The main focus of our project is on approaches to leading educational
change processes within Higher Education Institutions. The findings and
outputs from the project will be made publicly available to the HE community
and widely disseminated through SEDA, the HEA and the Leadership
Foundation for Higher Education.
Before we write up our final report we would be interested in hearing from any
other institution that has run an internal change academy or has significantly
used the HEA Change Academy methodologies. Just for information we have
already been in contact with the following institutions:
University of Sheffield; The University of Hull ; St Mary’s University College;
University of Hertfordshire; University of Gloucestershire; Marjon; Leeds
University; Glyndwr University.
