Dear Margaret,
I am including Peter Walsh in this reply, as he is the secretary for SAGSET
(www.ms.ic.ac.uk/sagset/) - the Society for the Advancement of Games and
Simulations in Education and Training.
Between 1990-2000 Kogan Page of London published the International
Simulation and Gaming Research Yearbooks, and Peter may still have copies
available. There were also proceedings from the 2001 SAGSET conference in
Leeds, edited by Maggie Boyle. The 2002 SAGSET conference proceedings have
just been published, edited by Fred Percival Again, Peter might be able to
advise on these.
There is also an International Simulation and Gaming Association conference
each year - if you look on the web under ISAGA you should find further
details.
Finally, it might be worth having a look at publications by Ken Jones'
(Methuen/Routledge), Dick Duke (SAGE), Horn and Cleaves (SAGE), Kathy
Greenblat (SAGE), Chris Elgood (Gower), Morry van Ments (Nichols). ISAGA
have an international journal published by SAGE called Simulation Gaming,
edited by David Crookall at the University of Nice in France.
Best wishes,
Danny

Subject: Games in teaching
Dear colleagues,
About 2 years ago I received from one of the mailbases a call for a
conference on games in teaching to be held in the summer (of 2001 or 2000?)
in Leeds which I was unable to attend. I was wondering whether anyone knows
about this conference and whether there are papers or other conferences and
whether anyone has any general references/books on using games in teaching.
Thank you
Margaret
