John Wakeford's set-up at Great Missenden runs effective supervision courses along the same lines that our own PCU used to do. The courses take place over a couple of days and are pretty intensive. Can't give you the URL off-hand but a Google search should turn it up. He also does pretty intensive publicity campaigns, so there should be a load of leaflets somewhere in everyone's universities.
