Invitation for Expression of Interest in the Position of Temporary
Education Development Adviser at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Educational Development Adviser
(Temporary full-time position between October 2003 and March 2004, exact
duration and period of employment negotiable)
Responsibilities
To facilitate workshops, provide consultancy services on teaching and
learning matters, and assist in other educational development activities
of the Centre. Some of the areas of interest include:
* Engaging students in active learning
* Helping students learn to learn
* Promoting critical thinking and problem solving abilities of
students
* The use of IT and WWW to enhance learning
* Project-based learning and supervision of student projects
* Assessment of student learning outcomes
* Quality assurance and evaluation of teaching
Requirements
(a) A recognised degree and a relevant qualification in education or
training
(b) Excellent interactive facilitation/teaching skills and a
commitment to student-centred learning
(c) A pro-active work style
(d) Excellent communication skills for one-to-one consultancy and
team work
(e) For Senior Educational Development Officer positions, a minimum
of four years relevant post degree experience and proven leadership in a
related area
Proven experience as an educational developer along with knowledge of
the Hong Kong educational system would be a definite advantage
Terms and Conditions
Depending on experience and qualifications, appointments will be made on
the minimum points of the Educational Development Officer pay scales
i.e.
Educational Development Officer HK$33,765.00 (per
month)*
Senior Educational Development Officer HK$55,710.00 (per
month)*
* Half-time positions will receive half of the monthly salary.
