Induction programmes for new supervisors
-------------------------------------------
As September is the time of year that many of us are thinking about
induction programmes for new PhD supervisors, I would like to remind you
that this is the first September that we have had the web gateway on
research supervision as a free and readily accessible resource. The
gateway
should be useful for:
* training personnel designing programmes
* new supervisors to work through on an individual basis, either where
no
formal induction programme is available or to supplement such a
programme;
and
* training personnel, policy makers and supervisors of all levels of
experience to consult on an ad hoc basis.
Those of us involved in the development of the gateway are committed to
making it as helpful as possible, so any constructive feedback will be
gratefully received via the Suggestions tab.
