Staff and Educational Development Association Ltd
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The world of staff and educational development in Higher Education is
expanding. SEDA wishes to make a temporary appointment to support its
strategic development in the service of its members. SEDA is a
voluntary professional association and a company limited for liability
(currently negotiating charitable status). The development officer will
be responsible for undertaking identified strategic projects in
furtherance of SEDA's current aims and future plans. Projects are
likely to be in the areas of accreditation, publications, events and
membership. Since the position is temporary there is also scope to
negotiate different terms and conditions to meet the career aspirations
of suitable candidates. For this reason we will consider applications
which could be anything from half to full time over one or up to two
years duration. While some home-working will be possible, it is
envisaged that some time will be spent at the SEDA Office in Birmingham.
SEDA is using investment funding for this post and any continuation of
the position would be dependent on the value added to the Association
from project work. We are keen to hear from anyone who would be
interested in this position.
The position will be within the scale £15,000 - £24,000 per annum pro
rata for up to two years.
Please send a CV with a letter of application to SEDA at the address
below saying why you are interested in the position, what you feel you
could offer by way of skills, knowledge, experience and aptitude and
stating your wishes as per half to full time and the date at which you
would be able to start work.
Further information is available from Jill Brookes (contact details
below) who can also arrange for an informal discussion with a member of
the Executive Committee.
Closing date for applications: Wednesday 1st August 2001
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 18th September 2001
