As its contract has ended, Mailbase will not be hosting this list after
24 November 2000 and a new provider, JISCmail will be taking over most
mailbase lists.
The background to this change is covered in more detail in JISCmail
Migration Bulletin No. 1 which is now available at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/docs/bulletin-1.htm
(Some details at end of this message.)
In the rest of the message references to <listname> in
<listname>@mailbase.ac.uk, <listname>@jiscmail.ac.uk or
<listname>[log in to unmask] should be replaced by one or other of
my lists:
Enterprise-HE school-management management-research SEDA
minitab staff-development population-studies teaching-statistics
Examples would be [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]
What's Happening when?
======================
Over the next weekend, this list, along with most other email
lists hosted by mailbase, will move to a new supplier, JISCmail. At
03:30 am on Saturday 25 November the Mailbase service will close. At
08:30 am on Monday 27 November the JISCmail service will open.
Emails sent to <listname>@mailbase.ac.uk and to [log in to unmask]
will be intercepted at Mailbase and sent on to JISCmail. The sender of
the email will be notified of the change of service name and, where
possible, the email will be converted and processed appropriately by
JISCmail.
After that, messages to the list should be addressed to
<listname>@jiscmail.ac.uk and messages to me in my capacity of list
owner should be addressed to <listname>[log in to unmask] For
further details of the JISCmail system, see the web site at
http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/docs/default.htm
Facilities such as list files and archives of past messages are
available through JISCmail in much the same way as from Mailbase.
However you will need to change any bookmarks or links to favourite
pages at Mailbase to the equivalent at JISCmail.
