Dear Dilly
Re lectures, I have used this clip...

...alongside others in my professional development workshops 'Lecturing for learning'; it's only fair to acknowledge that the effectiveness of the fragments in the clip must be partly due to a) the 'practical' nature of the subject and b) the cheap gags, but I also think there are other aspects of the delivery (and perhaps structure) that are eminently transferable.
This...

...was for me almost revelationary re use of supporting visuals - I'd hate to have to attend too many lectures styled like this, but as an occ approach, it's certainly 'different'! and again, it has, I would argue, some transferable features (like the internal repetition and the engaging pace).

Dear all
We're looking to improve our (not at all comprehensive) bank of video resources of good and not-so-good teaching at HE level - can anyone help? We're particularly keen to find examples from which we can play a clip of up to five minutes in one our Learning and Teaching in HE sessions, so that course participants can comment on and evaluate teaching methods, level of engagement of learners and so on. We're interested in any teaching context - lectures, seminars, tutorials, lab work, fieldwork... Does anyone know of any materials that could be used in this way - without infringing copyright or ethical standards, of course?
Regards
Dilly
