Dear Colleagues-
As you are possibly aware, the JISC (Joint Information Systems Committee) support the development of Technology Enhanced Learning in the UK's post-compulsory Education sectors (i.e. Further and Higher Education, Adult and Community Learning, Work Based Learning etc). We are presently endeavouring to present a series of expert online seminars (or "Webinars"), focusing on ways in which institutions have utilised open technologies, resources and approaches to deliver and support learning using technology. This could include:
Open Access: Materials made publically (or institutionally available) which would historically have levied a fee for use (e.g. academic materials freely available through the Open University at OpenLearn, or via JISC at Jorum).
Open Educational Resources: Open educational resources (OER) are learning materials that are available freely available for use, remixing and redistribution. (UMich)

Open Source: Software that has been developed/released under an Open Source Initiative for distribution to any interested users.
Open Research: The central theme of open research is to make clear accounts of the methodology freely available via he internet, along with any data or results derived or extracted from them. The permits massively distributed collaboration, and one in which anyone may participate at any level of the project.
Whilst there is plenty of expertise represented from the University Community, HE in FE practitioners are currently under-represented. Consequently, I would be grateful if any colleagues practicing in these environments would be prepared to chronicle their experiences, and perhaps get involved in either presenting an online webinar or drafting a case study.
Could you please respond to me at danmccaffrey@rsc<mailto:[log in to unmask]>-south-<mailto:[log in to unmask]>west.ac.uk if you would like to get involved.
Best Wishes, Dan
