Dear All
Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Symposium, for making it such a constructive and enjoyable day. I gained a great deal and am sure much will come out of the event.
How great to be part of such a positive, committed bunch!
To those who were unable to attend, we will be circulating reports and comments.
Particular thanks to Sandra for offering to host the event and for managing things at the London end - and to Julius at LondonMet for his hard work in sorting out badges and packs, negotiating with catering services etc.
Special thanks to Ed and Roger for the keynote 'embedding' discussion - on which I am sure we have more to do.
Thanks to Bill and Jill for setting up the web project - again great potential for development of something we will all be able to contribute to, and which learners will find invaluable in future, I'm sure.
Thanks to Polly and Caroline for the Swapshop - and to all who shared and swapped!
Thanks to Phyllis, Anika, Kate and Liz for the excellent parallel sessions.
Thanks to Isabelle for arriving early and helping with everything practical! And thanks to Polly for scribing the plenary.
I was tired but happy on Friday evening and am already looking forward to next time - in the North - (Anika?) But in the meantime, we can help to keep these ideas alive and share them through list.
And I do hope you'll all begin using the file space area (NB: ask me if you don't know what this is!). You can use it to display a biography of yourself, post documents and ideas for teaching / learning materials (which would help the Bill/Jill web project in its 'gathering' phase - and allow us all to send evaluative comments on materials placed there), look at the database about our services - amend it or add to it for your own institution .... the world's your lobster ... or something like that ...
All the best
John
