Dear All,
Re: Animation challenge - results are in!!
You may remember that last year we set the Challenge to all you
learning developers to create a small resource or animation upon any
study or academic strategy, literacy or skill (apologies to all who
hate this term).
Well the entrants came in - and the difficult task of judging has been
completed - and it is now my pleasurable task to thank all the
entrants to the Challenge - what a wonderful set of animated resources
you produced - and to announce the winners.
Thank you also to our judges, Caroline Cash and Nigel Medhurst, for
reviewing the entrants so thoughtfully and diligently.
As you know, the winning resources will be showcased on the new
LearnHigher website which should be launched circa January 2013 - and
all the entrants to the competition can be accessed from the
attachment.
Results
All the entrants were creative and exciting – and deserve to be shared
with a wider audience, but sadly there could only be three (four!)
winners:
In first place with her resource on the Power of the Paragraph, was
Courtney Hopf from Brunel: https://vimeo.com/44666462
In second place with her Prezi with videos entitled Structuring a
report? A piece of cake, Michelle Reid from Reading University:

And in joint third place:
Sally Dalton, from Leeds University The 3 minute guide to subject
headings: http://youtu.be/3XTJTUjbo-g
And
Florence Dujardin from Sheffield Hallam, Using Google Scholar:

END NOTE:
I do hope that seeing these creative resources will stimulate you all
to get producing yourselves - and if not you - why not get your
students producing - and if not all the students - work with your
animation students... You know it makes sense!
Best wishes,
Sandra
