Hi Colin
We're in the process of setting up a pilot peer learning scheme in Plymouth 'PALS@Plymouth' and would like to acknowledge the hugely generous help we've received from colleagues at Bournemouth and Manchester in giving us advice and links to relevant documents. My colleague Beccy Reilly is coordinating our pilot and will be in touch with you. So far we are looking mostly at 2nd and 3rd years working with first years, but there is some interest here among academics in looking at 3rd yr of PG students working with second years too. As new kids on the peer learning block we too would like to be in contact with others doing similar things. It's great to see that Marcia, William, Ide and Moira, are offering sessions about peer learning at the Belfast conference. Am very much looking forward to seeing you there!
All the best for now
John

Subject: peer mentoring for second years
Dear colleagues
I am about to extend the peer mentoring scheme we use here (that is second/third years mentoring groups for first years) to include:
Final years advising and supporting second year students. Not as buddies but a few mentors covering quite a big cohort.
Does your university or departments run such a scheme? what does it look like?
I am trying to avoid reinventing wheels here and would be grateful for advice.
all best wishes
Colin
