Job title: Academic Learning Adviser; part time (21 hours per week)
Salary: £33,834.00 pa (pro-rated) inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
The University of Roehampton has a beautiful parkland campus, set in the heart of South-West London, and offers excellent facilities for staff and students.
The team of Academic Learning Advisers (ALAs) work in collaboration with academic staff within and alongside the curriculum to develop students’ academic and learning skills. They advise students on approaches and strategies for effective study, information literacy, critical thinking and independent learning. Student guidance is delivered through 1-2-1 tutorials, group workshops, lectures and a range of online approaches. The team makes important contributions to enhancing the student learning experience and to raising attainment, retention and satisfaction.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have experience of teaching and learning and knowledge of learning skills development, preferably within higher or further education.
You should have experience of writing and developing learning resources (printed and web-based), be a good communicator, adaptable, well organised and maintain a proactive approach to the demands of the post.
