I use PollEverywhere which is voting using mobile phones. It is very easy to use and students like it. They only need to send a text to answer each question using their mobile phones. It is anonymous and there is no need to carry the bag of clickers, giving them to students at the start of sessions and collect them in the end. There is no technical problems which sometimes are noticed when using clickers. However, there is on limitation to use it, as the system is free for up to 40 students.

I tend to use a very nifty piece of software called Socrative.

Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience in using electronic voting systems as part of teaching sessions in our line of work? They appear to be quite an underused tool at the University of Northampton, and I’ve not found anything that has been produced about their use in the field of Learning Development.
If this is something you have looked at, I would be interested to hear from you about your experiences!
Best wishes,
Helena
