Dear John/all,
This is a very interesting discussion question, I think that many institutions are starting to adopt creative ways of hearing, listening and responding to the Student voice and I would also be interested to hear of different approaches.
The Students as Partners programme at the University of Manchester coordinates and facilitates 'Student Consultations' to inform institutional practice and policy. There is some information on our website (although limited), link below:

John - I would be very happy to discuss our approach further with you.
Best Wishes,
Marcia

Subject: Student consultation on LD
Hello everyone
Happy New Year! I'm writing to ask if any of you have any thoughts or advice on the topic of student representation in relation to learning development and services in support of learning.
In particular I wanted to ask if any of you have a consultative group to advise your service, with representatives from your student union or involving participants (I am not keen on the term 'service user') in some other way.
At Plymouth we already have quite good systems (using the Survey Monkey) for seeking individual student evaluation of learning development and counselling etc - but we are now starting a discussion about ways in which we might better involve and consult students on the overall provision and design of our learning development activities ...
I'd be very grateful for any thoughts ...
Best wishes
John
