Lecturer £31,020 - £33,884 per annum, pro-rata
Centre for Learning and Study Support
Library and Learning Services
Temporary until 31st July 2012, 0.5 FTE
We are seeking a Lecturer to join our team of learning developers working in the Centre for Learning and Study Support (CLaSS) within the Directorate of Library and Learning Services. The team has a national reputation for the quality and range of its work with learners and you will be based within a highly successful department.
You will work with individual learners and with groups, leading a range of learning activities including 1:1 tutorials, workshops within the curriculum, drop-in sessions and an open programme of courses. Within the team you would be expected to make a particular contribution to supporting transitions to higher education and in working with harder-to-reach groups of HE learners.
You will be a graduate with a teaching qualification. Previous experience in a learning development function relevant to the post, especially of working directly with students, and of working with HE learners are also essential. A specialist qualification in specific learning differences would be an advantage as would an interest in peer mentoring.
