ACADEMIC SKILLS ADVISER (full-time)
One year fixed-term contract in the first instance
Would you like to join a team that is working to embed academic skills in the subject curriculum and delivering a range of workshops, seminars and other learning activities?
Learning development activities (encompassing academic writing, presentation skills, time management, mathematics and statistics support) within Brunel are located within the Library, provided by the ASK (Academic Skills) team. As a result of successful bids under the University's OFFA funding, we are now looking at recruiting a new Academic Skills Adviser to aid transition into University and improve skills support. The successful candidate will be based within the ASK team as part of the Library's Academic Support team working closely with the School of Social Sciences.

If you have a Social Sciences degree (e.g. Sociology, Politics, History or related) and an awareness of the transition into higher education and the study skills issues faced by students; if you enjoy working with academic staff and students from a variety of backgrounds, across a range of subject disciplines; if you have excellent organisational and communication skills; if you are enthusiastic and motivated, then this is an opportunity to use these skills and abilities to help Brunel to achieve its mission of developing confident, talented and versatile graduates.
