Hi Maggie
This part is uncompleted.
What I am attempting to do here is to test the students knowledge and application for 3 levels.
Level 1: Fnd/UG 1st yr
Level 2: UG 2nd yr & 3rd yr
Level 3: UG 3rd yr and Masters
The idea is to provide exercises that will give them a sense of challenge that way they will come back and develop their skills further.
Regards
Nicola

Folks, really sorry, I understand that there were some issues with the attachment I sent out yesterday. We have moved to Word7 which appears to have a mind of its own.
Clear text sent with this, I hope, and summary below...
Can I just remind anyone thinking of coming to this seminar to register pdq as places are limited unfortunately. The booking link is on the first page.
Best wishes
Chris

Subject: HE STEM SW - Transition & PAL Seminar
Dear everyone
This is to let you know that the second in our series of four FREE regional seminars around our HE STEM SW projects (looking at transition to HE STEM programmes, and, the role of Peer Assisted Learning on HE STEM programmes) will take place on Wednesday 23 November at the University of the West of England.
We have an exciting line up of speakers.
*
Dr Diane Nutt, who many will know through her involvement with the European First Year Experience movement, will provide the opening talk, giving some broader context to our day.
*
Dr Ria Symonds of Nottingham University will explore the benefits of proactive transition support for non traditional mathematics students where the tutorial sessions are led by postgrad maths students
*
Makis Maliris of the University of the West of England will talk about the the work he has been doing at UWE in planning, implementing and evaluating on-line PAL.
*
Stephen Parton and Vicki Noade of Bournemouth University will talk about how PAL leader training takes place at BU.
*
Chris Keenan, also of Bournemouth University will talk about the value of developmental pre-enrolment transition resources linked to enhanced induction experiences.
Full details, including the programme, signing up, and starting instructions, are attached.
We had great feedback following our first seminar and we are confident that this will be equally *interesting*, *informative* and hopefully *transformative*!
Places are limited, so we recommend early registration. There is no charge for this seminar. Refreshments (including pastries!) will be available on arrival, lunch will be provided. Although this is a south west facing project it is open to others in the sector who would like to come along.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Best wishes
Chris

Subject: Institutional contact for Learning Development - can you help?
Dear all,
As new Secretary of ALDinHE (the Association for Learning Development in Higher Education), can I ask for your help?
We would like to ensure our institutional membership database is up to date. Could you spare a minute to let me know the name, job title, address and email of the lead decision-maker regarding Learning Development provision at your institution? (Probably the Head of LD, or Head of the centre that includes the main LD-type provision.)
We will then know who to invite to take out institutional membership of ALDinHE for the current year.
If you could reply direct to me (not to the whole list), I would be very grateful. We will only use the information to disseminate and promote the work of ALDinHE.
As many of you will know, ALDinHE is the professional association for people working in the field of Learning Development in Higher Education.
As well as maintaining this discussion list, we run the annual conference, edit an online journal, organise CPD events, maintain the LearnHigher resource and generally promote the interests of LD practitioners. See www.aldinhe.ac.uk for more details. We rely on an active membership to fund and support our activities.
