Dear Louise,
a nice example of blogging for writing development was the "evolving
essay" project carried out a couple of years ago by one of London
Metropolitan University's undergraduate writing mentors, Lynn Reynolds.
Because Lynn was frustrated at being given perfect models of academic
writing which hid the process and often seemed unachievable, she set out
to reveal the process of writing an academic essay at every step. She
used a blog for reflection and discussion and a wiki for displaying
drafts. There's lots of good stuff here and some very illuminating
discussions.
See anessayevolves.blogspot.com and evolvingessay.pbworks.com
Best wishes, Peter
