Dear Colleagues
Ravi Rana, in her book, 'Counselling Students',* asserts that 'Difficulties in
using criticism constructively lie at the heart of many students' problems in
learning' (p.133). I am inclined to agree with this; so I am currently
researching the area of student response to criticism, and the ways learning
development practitioners might help students to manage adverse criticism of
their work by tutors, and/or their peers.
I wonder if any of you have done similar research/or ran workshops on this
topic/or worked in collaboration with your counselling services colleagues in
this specific area? If you have, or you know of work that has been done by
others, and particularly anything written about it, and can refer me to it, I
would be very glad to hear from you! Thanks.
