We are currently advertising the following three jobs that might be of interest to LDHEN members.

Tristram Hooley
CRAC: The Career Development Organisation

*****

CRAC is the pre-eminent national organisation providing innovation and development in lifelong careers education and management in the UK. Over 40 years we have pioneered numerous programmes and interventions which are now embedded within different educational settings. We're also known for bringing together disparate parties -- with a common interest in careers -- through our conferences and publishing programmes, as well as researching new ground. We are currently seeking to increase our impact in terms of adult and later-life career development and have the following vacancies.

Head of Lifelong Learning

We seek an established individual to lead our Lifelong Learning team and our activities in adult career development. This will encompass those in work, in retirement and in other environments. With a background in adult career development, and specialist knowledge built upon an understanding of relevant Government policy, the Head will develop new ideas, programmes and activities and the funding to develop and pilot them. A consummate networker, with a pre-existing range of contacts, they will be instrumental in managing our relationships with key strategic stakeholders. As part of the CRAC Senior Management Team they will also play a key role in the development of CRAC's wider strategy and maintaining our position as a leading national careers expert.

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 plus competitive package
Additional salary maybe available to an exceptional candidate

Head of Vocational Learning

Within our Lifelong Learning team, we wish to increase our presence in career development within the vocational learning sector. We would like to develop activities for learners, and those supporting them, for example, within both Further Education and work-based learning (e.g. young people's and adult apprenticeships). The successful candidate for this newly created post will need substantial knowledge of these sectors and a passion for career development. The role will involve developing new activities for CRAC in this area and securing the relevant funding to make these innovations a reality. A confident networker and presenter, the Head of Vocational Learning will also be a key spokesperson for CRAC in this arena.

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 plus competitive package

We would welcome interest from potential applicants on an employed or contracted basis, ideally full-time although portfolio working could be possible, as would secondment from a relevant organisation. For an informal discussion about either role please contact Julie Groome on 01223 448531 or [log in to unmask]

Manager - Employer Engagement

A major part of this role will be to lead a strategic engagement with employers focusing on their recruitment of staff qualified at postgraduate level. The post will investigate employers' requirements for high-level staff and encourage their involvement in the career development of postgraduate level researchers.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of how employers engage with education and skill development, some knowledge of employers and businesses, an understanding of the issues relating to career development and strong inter-personal skills.

The role is anchored within CRAC's Researcher Development team, but is expected to work across the range of CRAC's activity which concerns lifelong career development.

Salary £25,000 - £31,000 plus competitive package
