Dear All,
I am currently conducting an enquiry into the archives of this discussion
list and looking at how the learning development field has changed since
the Jiscmail LDHEN list started in 2003. During that first year many of
you contributed to a mapping document which provided a useful comparison
of how learning development was offered and supported at different
institutions. Some updating of information took place in 2004, but not
since then.
I attach the original document and would be very grateful if you could
take a little time to review the entry from your university and update the
information. You will notice several tabs to the document: location &
funding, embedded provision, collaboration, staffing - please complete as
fully as you are able. I have added a column to the staffing tab
called 'notes', please feel free to use this to record your own
perspective or experience of how learning development in HE has changed in
the last five years.
Please could you reply to me, not the discussion list, otherwise we will
all be inundated with repetitive spreadsheets. I'll collate the replies
and share the results with you, but in order to facilitate this, please
could you respond by the end of November.
Once I have 'cleaned' and begun to 'theme' the discussion archives I will
be contacting key contributers for follow-up interviews on some of the
more weighty topics. I would, however, be very pleased for you to contact
me to discuss particular academic support/learning development topics that
are of interest/concern to you.
Many thanks for your help in this, and to your contributions to the list -
it makes very interesting reading all at one sitting, and is certainly one
of the most lively discussion groups. Carry on the great work!
Best regards,
Caroline
