As a one time Information Manger I'd say referencing is important
because it allows the reader to find the source material for
themselves should they wish to follow it up.
On the other hand, to insist on conforming to a particular order of
words with full stops, italics etc in particular places is demanding
the corporate polo shirt and creates immense confusion for anybody
on a Combined Studies course. Not a naughty thought at all, John.
