Dear all
Thanks to John for changing the reply default setting, as well as for his
continued participation in the LDHEN site.
However, as a lurker on the site, I would like to make a plea to list members
to continue to think carefully about who might like to receive messages. One
of the joys of this site is the open sharing of ideas, information and
activities, which Sarah and I at Exeter (and I'm sure many others) have
benefited from enormously. I know we have also suffered from unwanted
responses but, personally, I have been prepared to put up with this because of
the overall positive nature of the endeavour.
It would be a great pity to me if much of this sharing were lost because
participants do not hit the 'reply all' button when this would be appropriate.
The questions and discusssions have often made me enthusiastic about things
that I might never have considered of importance, they often provide
discussion points for Sarah and myself, and I have filed away information on
resources and so on for when I have a spare moment to peruse them. None of
this have I asked for specifically, but it all enriches my professional life.
So, thanks to the many who (without knowing it) have been supporting my
interests, as well as developments at Exeter. And I hope that list members
will choose to select the 'reply all' option, with care and attention, and as
appropriately as possible, so as to maintain the impact of this important
resource.
Best wishes to all, Liz.
