Dear Naseem and colleagues
At Coventry University we have an Equality and Diversity Committee.
This was established in September 2002, constituted from the EO Committee.
(The EO Committee had existed for over a decade and met only once a year; its
main role being to monitor stats on staff recruitment and student admissions)
The EDC is Chaired by a Dean. It has one member from each School, 1 each from
Student Services, Personnel, TU. Group, the SU (their student EO Officer) and
the Centre for HE Development. The Director of Personnel, Disabilities Officer
and EO Adviser are ex officio.
There are two places for people with particular expertise (VC nominations) and
two external members.
The EDC is an advisory committee to the VC and meets three times p.a..
